We've begun our project by thinking about what things cost. What items or pursuits require a lot of money? What things require very little money --- or no money at all?
We also watched The Story of Stuff. What does it take to make all the "stuff" we buy? And what is it costing the planet?
My name is Shaquasia and I'm a new student at Gotham Academy. My first day of the group project was pretty fun, we watched a video called the Story of Stuff. It was basically about how society gets us to buy things that aren't really needed. It also covered some areas on how the constant making of new things has an effect on the earth. Then back in class we all wrote comments on these sheets of papers with sayings like "we need a lot of money to..." “we need some money to..." and so on. Overall I’m glad I picked this project group because I don’t like to spend a lot of money on things and I would like to find out more on how to get things for free.
ReplyDeleteWe hope to learn a lot and have fun. Also we want to see how other people make a living without using any money. Herman, Denisha, Ilicia
ReplyDeleteThe first time I seen the class I seen faces. I figured "Damn! We gotta do group work." But my second day in class and I have no complaints. I enjoy the people I work with in my group. I expect more work in the same form but I can deal with it. Jakwon
ReplyDeleteImagination
ReplyDeleteThe destruction
That I cause never goes away
Due to my bloody imagination
Of everlasting lust for pain,
But a boss who gains
Many new blood
Can never get them to solve
His many lifestyle probs.
But it’s my time
To shine
And tell the truth of many lies.
If you have to die
To get to paradise
But the true reason why men hate
Earth is cause it’s their fate
To not change earth
Into their image of not a planet of dirt.
But the reason I kill, hunt, and assassinate
Is due to our government.
Beauty of life to them is an embarrassment
So they diminish
What they please.
Next thing you know this planet is finished
Without any peace.
